Interviewing a Character

For this post I held a brief interview with my seven year-old cousin, Isabelle. Although not always the most talkative, I was able to get an interesting story out of her.

I began the interview by bringing up a shared interest between the two of us; Spongebob Squarepants. While she went on to happily tell me about one of her favourite episodes, not leaving out any details to the episode whatsoever, she came to an abrupt stop midway through the story. The moment she stopped I could tell that a piece inside her heart had been crushed. She went on to say, "it doesn't matter though because Spongebob isn't on Netflix anymore". I was sprung speechless for two reasons: 1) this poor girl was obviously hurt that she could no longer watch Spongebob at her disposal, and 2) one of my all time favourite television shows had been on Netflix this entire time and I never knew about it- and now it's gone.

From that moment on the two of us were visibly depressed. A tear was shed and a voice sounded like it was struggling to hold back crying. My little cousin was also upset.

So I ask Netflix, for the young and the young at heart, please bring back Spongebob.
