Watching Another Clip to Examine Movement

On Youtube I searched for the music video of a popular song right now, one that I am admittedly a huge fan of. The music video for "Downtown" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis has a great deal of camera shots and angles, all of which (generally) follow a linear movement.

The beginning of the video starts with a long shot of 25 seconds (a notable chunk of time). The camera follows one of the two central characters of the video, panning with his movement, and zooming when he moves away. In lieu of the quick nature of the song afterwards, every line in the lyrics is accompanied by a separate shot, dedicated to emphasize the lines. Throughout the entire video the camera quite literally follows the characters as they move through different settings, and on different motorcycles. Not from the perspective of the character, but to show the character so audiences get a better glimpse at that's going on.

While it may not have been the intent for us to examine music videos as oppossed to films, I thought it was interesting to note how much quicker the pace was to accomodate the fast style of the music.
